You might only need to replace the bearings that fit onto the tops of the front 
struts. These are circular yellow plastic races with bearings inside. Yes, 
these are consumables; and probably not replaced the last time the shocks were 
replaced--and if the shocks were never replaced the bearings are original and 
in need of replacement. Let us know how you make out,
