Sportiva, again

Karl Schnelle writes of the Sportiva that "Pictures in the Catalogue

Raisonne 1910-1989 Vol II, show that all four were bodied differently, as
documented by period photos." The "period photos" are the problem; going by
the period photos there were at least six cars - the two existing coupes, the
existing spider, and two other definitely different coupes and one other
spider which are similar to the existing spider except for the prominent fins
on the rear fenders. The period photos do not really demonstrate conclusively
that there were more than three bodies, one of them modified several times in
experimental variations.

Karl Schnelle then asks "Is this one real, or a Swiss reproduction:

www.barchetta.cc/All.Ferraris/events-stories/stories/alfa-romeo/1900-sportiva
/index.html?"

It is real; it is the 0004 coupe which Fusi traded to Lionel Jones for the
only surviving Alfa Romeo 20/30ES, the first model built after Nicola Romeo
bought A.L.F.A. and added his name to the company's cars.

That coupe is the featured car in the August 1988 "Classic and Sportscar"
article, which also has a small photo of the other surviving coupe and
drawings of the other four variations.
