It's called that here in the US, too.

More examples are Audi A8 4.2 and S4 4.2, same engine, same number of doors,
different chassis.  Nissan Altima and Maxima, same engine, same number of
doors, slightly different chassis.  Lexus ES300 and Toyota Camry 3.0,
same engine, same chassis and same number of doors (actually, almost every
Lexus has a Toyota twin with the same engine and chassis).
