Real gaffer's tape is probably what you need. The stuff I have is Nashua
#398 - it's not the best I've ever had, being somewhat shiny with a
layer of plastic over the cloth. I know someone is still making the
serious cloth variety - just haven't come across it in a while. A
theatrical supplies house would be a sure source, if you have any around
there, or if you can find one online.
