Project Alfa officially completed

It was about four months ago when my brother was taunting me, as he has
often done over the past five years, about when I was ever going to get the
Alfa done. I told him I would have it finished by my birthday (June 14th)
and would have an "unveiling" party. There wasn't a lot left to do, mostly
cosmetic stuff, so I figured it was in the bag. Well, don't underestimate
the small stuff because I had to hump it every weekend and sometimes in the
evening during the week as well to get this thing done. I must have made a
hundred dashes to Ace hardware for little trim screws and such. There was
the steering box that shattered and had to be replaced then the rebuilt
clutch master cylinder that I had concerns about started to go flat on a
test run so I put in a new one. Finally, last weekend, it came down to
installing the new top. I've done this about four times before but it's
still quite a job that anyone who has done it can attest to.

So the big day came, everyone showed up and looked with awe at the finished
product. I gave rides and she performed flawlessly. I wanted to hit the ARA
swap meet in Tracy but I was in charge of barbequing the ribs so couldn't
make it - everyone showed up hungry.

But I'm a happy guy
