Refinishing flywheels (was something else)
Unless one has run the clutch plate down to the rivets, why-oh-why
refinish the flywheel?
Of course it will have a glaze on it. Doubt if it takes long for it to
get that way. I use very coarse sandpaper and break the glaze on the
contact surface before installing the clutch, but other than that...
Now, if one is doing a complete engine rebuild and along with balancing
all the reciprocating components, it is 'a good thing' to have the
flywheel surface milled before balancing - primarily to true it up.
