FWIW the filetype is JFIF/PIC, a simplified type of JPEG. You can view
the images as is or you may need to rename them *.JPG or *.JIF for some
programs but an imaging program won't provide you with a search tool.
Still, if you can't get CarDisc to run on XP, at least you'll be able to
view the images.
