Re: Giulietta prototypes

All this talk about the Giulietta prototypes jarred loose a memory that was rattling around in my brain.

A few years ago - actually, probably closer to 5 years - I got in touch with an Alfa Owner in Iowa who was selling an early Giuletta. It was described as a 59, but had a continental tire holder on the trunk lid. The fellow (um, Norm Gallatin? maybe?) didn't represent it as such, but was of the opinion that while it didn't look that appealing, the workmanship was such that he thought it could possibly have been factory, either as a proposal or a custom job.

Of course, that was years ago. No idea what ever became of it, and I never got to see it in person.
