Re[2]: GTV 6 Restoration

Good advice Richard. One thing about metric hardware, however. There are certain sizes of metric hardware that are considered "automotive" and even at places that sell a lot of metric (like Mr. Metric here in San Jose Ca) they will tell you that they DO NOT sell automotive sizes. I thought it a little strange, but there it is.

Better putting the screws in those holes, and, using some tape, making
sure
they stay there.
i've been known to use zip lock bags, numbering them with a sharpie to
correspond with the steps in a procedure.

also, when you go to put it back together, consider using new fasteners
where reasonable. most of the metric stuff is pretty standard, really, hard
to get at our local home depot because they don't really seem to care about
that part of their fastener aisle, but any decent hardware store with a
midwest fastener display should be able to supply all the stock stuff.
