AONE remembers Fred DiMatteo
Dear friends -
As alluded to earlier here on the Digest, there will soon be a special
issue of Velocissima, the Alfa Owners of New England newsletter, published
honoring Fred DiMatteo, prepared by some of AONE's long-time fellow
members. This issue will appear simultaneously at www.velocissima.com,
where it will likely develop into a work in progress, the Fred DiMatteo Web
Site, if you will, with contributions from all over the world.
In the meantime, we're inviting you to contribute your thoughts, photos,
stories, and whatever else you'd like to offer on a special online Forum
set up for this purpose at www.velocissima.com. At some later time, this
Forum will be printed and presented to the DiMatteo family as a tribute.
The new AONE Forum section has been in development for several weeks, has
undergone significant testing, and was scheduled for release in
May. However, the passing of Fred has prompted us to make it accessible
now, so that you may use it to express your thoughts on this amazing man
and his life. Many of you have shared your sentiments already here on the
Digest, and we urge you to do so again on the AONE Forum so that they can
be gathered in one place. (You do not need to register as a Forum member
to post to this topic. The Forum is new, so please report any problems you
may encounter back to me.)
We join you in mourning the death and celebrating the life of this
exemplary individual -- an unabashed Alfa enthusiast, devoted AONE member,
unsurpassed Alfa expert, past AONE President, ex-Velocissima editor, club
supercharger, and very special friend.
