Hi Greg:

I'm using the Valvoline "Max Life" in my '83 Ford LTD beater, which only 
has 68,000 original miles.  No leaks, and it doesn't burn a drop between 
the 3,000 mile changes, but it never did leak or burn any "regular" oil 
either.  All motor oils have seal conditioners in them, and just from 
reading the bottle, it sounds like Valvoline upped the dose a bit.

I use Mobil 1 15w/50 in my '74 Spider, with 58,000 miles, and it only leaks 
oil from the right front cylinder head o-ring, which is always has.  I just 
put the Mobil 1 into my "new" 87 Spider, with 85,000, which also has no 
leaks.  I'm curious to see what happens there.  One hears all these stories 
about synthetics causing new leaks, but I've been using Mobil 1 since about 
'78, and never seen that in any of my cars.
