Milano Verde ABS brake opinion

I have an '88 Milano Verde being prepared to be a frequent driver (especially in winter) and a track car. Someone suggested that since the brakes are being redone, I should pull out the ABS brakes and just put in a booster and master cylinder to get non-ABS but much more reliable brakes. Any opinions? Do those of you who use these on the track have problems with the ABS? Is is so much trouble that it's worth swapping? Non-ABS will certainly be a cheaper solution, but I admit I have gotten used to ABS in my other car at the end of the long straight on our local track. Yeah, I know - I should just learn to drive ...

Thanks.
