RE: Fuel fumes in car.. yuck!
Derek,
Three possible sources. Lines into/from the tank can be accessed from the
trunk by removing the side carpeting in the trunk. Second, check around the
engine paying extra attention to the front and back of the fuel rail and the
evap lines that go to the charcoal canister located in the front of the
passenger side front fender. Those lines run along the passengers side inner
fender. Third, which by the way happened to me, to check under the front
carpet passenger side where the fuel lines run in the front right corner of
the footwell. My car rusted through by the jacking point attachment and the
sharp bent metal cut the evap line from the tank. By the way don't buy a
Camry buy a Passat.

I have an '88 Milano Verde. The car seems to let fuel fumes in sometimes. It
really bugs my wife, to the point where she's giving me a hard time about
keeping the car (I might have to buy a Camry if I sell it....
SHUUUDDDDERRR).
Any ideas why this might be happening? What can I do to stop this?
Thanks,
Derek
