Does anybody know if the fuel pump on this car is easily rebuildable?  If so what do I need (ie special instructions, tools or parts)?

I'm trying to resurrect an abandoned GTV.  The previous owner (salvager) got the poor thing start by by-passing the original fuel pump and fuel filter.  He installed a JC Witney fuel pump and filter under the hood at original fuel filter.  

The car had sat for at least 15 years and the fuel shows no signs of life when energized.
