Re: Cranky electric window (115 Spiders)

Hi Bruce:

Ever see this site?:

I can't wait to dig into the windows on my '87 Spider.

Dean

A follow-up on my examination of my cranky electric window. Yes
indeedy, it was a loose adjuster - not that the nut was loose but that
the rubber washer had 'fallen' off somehow and thusly was loose on the
window glass. I found it at the bottom of door with a rip in it.
Slipped it back on to the adjuster and tighten the nut back down. But
in the meantime, the window had become cocked in the runners and needed
to be adjusted as well. Even found the rubber stopper that adjusts how
far up the window goes - mine always has gone beyond the top of the vent
window. The window now goes up and down pretty well. And the cable
isn't frayed at all.

I left the interior panel off so that if I need to make any more
adjustments, it will be pretty quick. Probably put it back on this
coming weekend.

Along with the torn rubber washer, I found a large rubber disc with a
plug on one side - as if it where a plug for a hole in the door. But I
couldn't find any such hole to fill. Anyone know where it should go?
