Can a frozen heater blower motor be repaired or is it better to track
down a new one? How about the wiper motor? Do parts on later cars work
with a 68 spider?
The heater blowers are easy to disassemble and clean. I've had good success by cleaning up commutator and brushes, making sure the bushings and armature shaft were not binding and lubricated. Drill a hole in the bottom of the heater housing to drain moisture when reinstalling. Heater blowers in 1750 and 2000 Spider/GTV/Berlina are different from the 1600 (two speed, different case dimensions), but can be adapted. Have not done a wiper motor. //kct, Powell TN
