Re: voltage drop

< Hi guys. Related to the discussion about moving a battery to the
trunk,
I'm looking into a midengine project (possibly Alfa powered) and was
thinking about using a wiring harness originally used on a front engine
car.
Will routing the instrument wires back to the rear of the car screw up
the
readings due to voltage drop, increased resistance, etc? TIA, Ron.>
Ron,
Except for a few exceptions like main battery wire and alternator
output, wire
sizes are usually dictated by mechanical considerations rather than
electrical.
Signal wires connecting instruments and the computer draw very little
current
so lengthening the wire does not significantly increase the voltage drop
in an
already more than adequate wire size.
