milano dedion bushing removal

this might finally be my last question for the moment:

is there a relatively painless recipe for getting the
old dedion bushing out w/o removing the dedion tube
from the car? i know that mark denovich will advise me
to employ a torch, but i'm in a wooden barn and that
has "fundamentaly unsound" written all over it:)
