My dead Milano

I'm just catching up on my posts, but I saw where Kevin wrote about my
giveaway Milano:

<<<<<
I can hardly wait for the posts that start with "..can someone nearby please
check out a free milano for me? I wan to make sure its not a piece of
junk..." . And they'll be serious....
>>>>>

Kevin, I hope you weren't being negative about me (email is hard to read
emotion.)

I said up front what was wrong, the heads have to be rebuilt. I have spent
over $2k in trying to get/keep that... Milano... running. Fixing a lot of
things the previous owner neglected, such as CV boots, flex joints, etc.
And also to correct piss poor maintenance the PO had performed. It actually
drove quite nice for about 500 miles.

But the heads are gone, I don't have the skill to rebuild them, I don't have
a place to store it, and my final decision was $5000 dropped into a Milano
that would still be questionable was too much. So many things went wrong
with that car in 6 weeks that I couldn't think of anything left to go wrong.
The money would be better spent on my other Alfas.

I offered it to the Digest at $400 and got no interest (more proof that we
Alfisti are cheap <grin>.)

Most people here know me to be honest, so I'm pretty sure you weren't saying
anything about me, right Kevin? Just the car... and I'm not arguing with
your assessment of it! <smile>
