Re: 2 milanos on e-bay
It really bugs me when people try to sell you an Alfa (or any other
marquee for that matter), and they go into great detail about the history
of the marque, or the life of the engineer that designed the engine, or
they just plain copy the sales brochure that originally came with the
car, but they don't say anything specific about that perticular car. To
me it seems like they are just trying find a sucker to buy the car.
Instead, I find it much more usefull if they tell information that is
perticular to the individual car that is for sale. In the adds for the
two Milano's listed below, there is not a word about their mechanicals.
I'd definitely would want to find out the condition of the big ticket
items before bidding on either one. For example, when was the timing
belt done, what does the compression test show, are the rear calipers
leaking, does the engine leak or burn any oil, is the exhaust rusted out,
any major work done recently, etc. For all you know both of these cars
could be due for head gasket replacement, and you won't find out untill
after you allready handed over your check. I would clear these issues up
with the owners and have a professional mechanic do an inspection before
buying the car.
I'd much rather see repair receipts than some generic info that can be
pulled of any enthusiast web site.
Bid wisely,
