More engine advice sought
I've gotten my cylinder block down to the naked truth, basically a bare
block with the studs and liners still installed.
What is the common wisdom on removing installed liners if the intent is
to re-use them? I know there are seals at the bottom to prevent coolant
from getting in to the oil but I'm trying a "don't fix it if it ain't
broke" attitude on this engine. The liners are in there pretty tightly
and I think I'd need a press to get them out. If I'm just going to hone
and re-use them I have this feeling that leaving them in situ might be
the best practice.
Can anyone give me a reason WHY I should remove them from the block
(given the presumption that I will re-use them and not install new
liners/pistons)?
