Re: Shorting Coils in 164LS

I had this problem for a long time with mine, especially when it was cold or
wet weather. I could see the coils shorting to the cam coveras well as hear
them. Swapped coils around and it still happened. Changed plugs from Bosch
Plats to the original NGKs and no more problems. Ashas been stated here and
on the 164 Digest the 24V models are very sensitive to plugs and must have
the correct stock ones . Coils rarely if ever go bad, however they should be
cleaned well and di-electric grease added around them.
