re: GTV6 startup question

Put your old thermo-time switch back in. It is only a factor when the engine is cranking.

Subject: GTV6 startup question

My 86 GTV6 used to start up on the first try when cold, pretty much instantly,
pretty much all the time. But it would stumble a little until it warmed up,
so my mechanic replaced the thermo-timer switch and then the thermostat.
Now it doesn't stumble, but it also doesn't start up when cold without some
encouragement, and I'm afraid I might blow the plenum some day.
Any suggestions what happened? I'd like to debug this myself
while I look for a new mechanic.

Also, while I have your attention: I have a parts car that I'd like to get
rid of (I want to reclaim the garage space). It's also an 86 GTV6.
It's in San Jose, CA. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks in advance. Ciao tutti.
