Spider Top Glue?

Just getting ready to install my new Caribou Canvas top and I find myself 
wondering what kind of glue I'm supposed to use to stick this thing to the frame. 
Also, the front bow was wrapped in material and padded. I stripped all of this 
off because it was torn. I doubt I will be able to redo it the way it was done. 
Is there any harm in just glueing some canvas directly to the underside of the 
bow to give it a finished look, but without the padding? Does there need to be 
material on the top of the bow, between the bow and the top or can it just be 
painted?
