Good advice from Joe on the alternator problem.  However, you should also 
check the voltage regulator. It screws into the back of the alternator. 
Remove it and check the bushings - they are probably worn to a nubbin. You 
can get a new regulator from IAP or Fred DiMatteo for around $30.

In fact, the regulator should be replaced around 80K miles anyway because 
of brush wear.
