Issue with 164L Climate control

Last year when I had the stepper motors replaced I noticed when I
got the car back the climate control wasn't quite right.... let me 
describe
the problem.

If I set the climate control on AUTO at  71 degrees it seems
more like 80-85.    I have to adjust it all the way down to LO before 
the heat kicks off - then all of a sudden the cooling kicks on once you 
hit LO.  Then of course it is too cold.

My guess is something is out of adjustment or perhaps a temperature 
sensor is failing.
Like I mentioned, it happened after the stepper motor was installed.   
So,  something is out of adjustment seems more likely... but I have 
never really looked how this system is controlled.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
