Re: alfa-digest V9 #101

Yeah, these are the wheels that were first used on the current FWD Spider and GTV (not sold in the USA) in 1995. I have seen them referred to as the "teardrop phone-dial wheels." I have seen them on 164's too and on at least one Milano Verde that I know-of. You might want to contact Matt at Re-originals in Houston, Texas. He seems to be able to get almost any OEM Alfa wheel and at reasonable prices (most of the alfa cast wheels he sells seem to be in the $200/ea. range) too.

or e-mail him at:

reoriginals@domain.elided

and give him the below URL. He should be able to tell you if he can get the wheels and how much.

BUT, and this goes for all Alfisti wheel-swappers out there in Digest-land: The FWD cars often have a different wheel offset than do the RWD Alfas. You might have problems with fender clearance, or, more likely (since you have a picture of the GTV-6 with them fitted) they will change the tire center with respect to the suspension design and cause handling problems and/or accelerated or uneven tire wear. So check your stock wheels' offset, and then check the offset of the new wheels. If they match or are real close, you're probably OK.

Howdy,

Does anyone know the details on these wheels:

I have a 1:18 (or so) late model Spider with the same wheels. I'm wondering
what size they are and are they available in the US?

thx,
