164 Belt Retensioning

Confirm!! Get it retentioned as there is an identifiable history of the back
cam jumping one tooth, but this usually happens between 10,000 and 15,000
miles after a new belt, so maybe 5000 is a bit on the early side. Once this is
done the belt will usually be safe to 50,000....but not the advertised 70,000
Alfa claim. In practice a lot do go to 70,000 OK, but too many do not for
comfort.

Alfa did change the belt supplier in Europe, and this helped, but did not
eliminate the cam jump, which tends to happen on startup when the engine is
cold and contracted in size, and the belt therefore slack.
