Re: C5 corvette

Thomas Moll is right. the C5 is quite a car, no longer a second class
citizen. have never read a review that was not agog at the brakes and
handling (newver mind acceleration) - as thomas says even in comparison to
"the gold standard(s). and, not just in raw numbers - but also in feel,
balance, and modulation. its a pretty nice ride. for $40 - 50K, its a lot
of car. the only thing people have ever complained about is the interior.
while functional, isn;t up to the finish and pretty of the other guys (sounds
a little like the criticisms the press always has about alfas!). well, the
$20 - 80K difference in price buys a lot of "who cares" when comparing to
porsche & ferrari.
they are pretty big in L,W, dimensions, but i think GM lists the curb weight
 @ ~ 3,175??? pounds - < 200# heavier than a Milano (75). the USA GTV6 has a
curb weight of almost 2,900 pounds. i know the corvette is a 2 seater but
still, in today's world its pretty light for a 400 hp GT car. certainly
lighter than a porsche, M3 and a lot of other big hp, big buck cars.
