RE: Compression data...

That's tough - I recall a fun rally we had several years back in NJ when
it rained. One entrant showed up on his Ducati, and had to write answers
down while on the go. No copilot on that bike...

 I recall he had to stop to write - luckily the winner was determined by
mileage, not time :-)

Remember that, Antonio????

Ralph, as you proceed with your calculations, please remember that
bonus points will be awarded if done with a slide rule while riding a
Ducati. Bonus points will also be awarded if the calculations are done
on an Abacus while contemplating the lack of innovations from our
friends in the Far East.

RALPH, were these readings taken in Houston [nearly sea level] or at
14,000
feet?
Will the readings vary at different altitudes? Please submit treatise
and
mathematical formulae to substantiate your answer. Thanks, Ev

I'd appreciate thoughts on the following compression test data for a V-6
engine;

#1 cyl.     125/186 ;       130/212
#2  cyl    135/186;        140/217
#3  cyl   125/177;        140/205
#4  cyl   125/173;        140/200
#5  cyl    135/186;        140/208
#6  cyl    130/191;        150/216

Test conditions;
Engine 'hot'; throttle fully open;
First set of numbers for 'dry' engine (1st number is initial reading;
2nd
is reading after about 6 revolutions).
Second set of number after addition of light oil,

Thanks
