RE: Compression data
RALPH, were these readings taken in Houston [nearly sea level] or at 14,000
feet?
Will the readings vary at different altitudes? Please submit treatise and
mathematical formulae to substantiate your answer. Thanks, Ev

Subject: Compression data
I'd appreciate thoughts on the following compression test data for a V-6
engine;
#1 cyl. 125/186 ; 130/212
#2 cyl 135/186; 140/217
#3 cyl 125/177; 140/205
#4 cyl 125/173; 140/200
#5 cyl 135/186; 140/208
#6 cyl 130/191; 150/216
Test conditions;
Engine 'hot'; throttle fully open;
First set of numbers for 'dry' engine (1st number is initial reading; 2nd
is reading after about 6 revolutions).
Second set of number after addition of light oil,
Thanks
Ralph
