re: Milano electrical problems

Sounds to me like an electrical fault in the gauge cluster. For the gauges to move to max they'd have to short to ground somehow, I think.

Subject: Milano electrical problems

Im having difficulty diagnosing electrical problems
in an 89 Milano. Im hoping some Milano owners can
 give me some guidance.
When I turn on the headlights or parking lights, the
instrument cluster lighting comes on for 10- 15
secs. then goes out. When this happens, the gauges
all move to maximum, oil presuure ,temp, etc. and the
speedo shows 40 MPH while at rest or while driving.
I've checked and cleaned all ground connections in
the front of the engine compartment ( ground busses)
, to no avail. What else should I be looking for???

 Thnaks to all.
