Re: 2.0 Engine rebuild questions

Ken:

All I use is a regular dial caliper a 3" micrometer (for the valve shims)
and a regular set of feeler gauges. Use Plasti-gauge for the bearings. Most
of the special tools to hold the liners in place or lock the flywheel you
can make yourself. I wouldn't bother with a bore gauge or try to salvage the
old liners, just buy a new set. Since you've got it all torn apart, why do a
half ass job? You'll need a standard ring compressor tool and if you want to
take the head apart yourself you'll need a special adapter and a standard
valve spring compressor. It would be nice to have a dial gauge for setting
TDC and stuff but I've never had the luxury, just eyeballed it.

There might be something I'm forgetting off the top of my head but I think
that's about it. Have fun.
