much of this article is from Scott Griffith, a friend and an expert who

in general, yes. although there may be exceptions (for example, adjustable
proportioning valves intended for brake service are often aluminum, so
there's no avoiding it there.) i keep spares around of certain parts in
case issues arise.

where possible, yes. again, it can't always be avoided. use steel whenever
possible in brake plumbing. hose ends in fuel and oil systems are generally
aluminum, but the braided line has steel braid which is in contact with the
aluminum fittings. it is impossible to completely avoid mixing steel and
aluminum.
