Adam,

The 1223 Code is Titled "Lambda Probe Inner Adjuster Failure" in the manual.
The heated lamda probe regulator inner adjuster reaches the minimum or the
maximum value of correction."

Possibilities:
1. Leak in the plumbing around the AFM, plenum, etc.
2. Air Flow meter
3. Other possibilities to check per the man. are spark plubs, injectors.

The voltage to the Motronic being sent by the lamdba (O2) sensor is out of
the programmed range from its "reading" of the fuel/air mix in the exhaust.

Sure others will chime in. (This is the digest afterall).
