If the eyebolts are in sheet metal, they need something to keep them
from pulling through the sheetmetal. Large washers should be sufficient if
you are pulling parallel to the sheet metal. If you are pulling
perpendicular to the sheet metal, then larger backing plates should be used.
Check with the people who sold you the seat belts to see what they
recommend and sell.
Make sure the shoulder straps extend back and slightly down from your
shoulders. Too steep an angle can put too much pressure on your spine. Not
enough and they can flex in a roll over. The top of the package shelf in the
74 GTV should be about the right height.
The best place to mount the shoulder straps is to a horizontal bar
welded into a properly designed roll bar. The roll bar has the added
advantage of keeping the roof from collapsing in a roll over!

The stock seat belt bolt locations on either side of your butt are
very good for the lap belt. For the anti sub strap, drill a hole in the
floor pan under the seat and use large washers to back up the bolt. Do not
install a racing harness without an anti sub strap. The strap will not ruin
your sex life if properly installed. But it will keep the seat belts down on
your hips. You do not want the shoulder straps to pull the lap belt up into
the soft tissue of your stomach.
