Driveshaft bushing removal

Hi,

    An old bolt was welded to the bushing and pulled with a slide hammer 
on a shaft I had done a while ago. The guy who did it said it was a snug fit.
   The shaft is hollow and the bushing is closed, like a small top hat. 
The grease method won't work.
   There is a small relief in the very bottom of the bushing, but I'm not 
sure it's deep enough for a pilot bushing puller to get a grip on.
   Tapping the bushing for a large bolt would probably work.
