OBDII... not much Alfa



Just a quick clarification of what OBD is, as said its On Board Diagnostics, Phase II.

What it does is monitor EVERYTHING that has ANYTHING to do with emissions.  And, there are specific items that MUST be tested and monitored during the emissions test.  Its much better now than its introduction in '95, works quite well, and is used in California to allow registration of the car.  There is a European version of it, and I'm sure is found on every new Alfa since Italy is part of the EU.

One other note about why is the Republic of Nowhere and not the US- all countries have their own vehicle rules...  The good thing is that MOST of them accept another country's certification.  It used to be Germany was the standard, but now its mostly any EU cert...
