re:GTV fuel gauge



Tony,
	Sure sounds like your fuel sender is at fault; probably tarnish on the
copper windings preventing the correct reading.  But it turns out that
they are easily 'refurbished'; I did it to the sender on my '73 GTV.  

	Remove the sender from the tank and let dry.  You can disassembly the
unit into about 3 parts without too much difficulty (but I can't
remember exactly how I did it).   You can use a combination of steel
wool and electrical contact cleaner to shine up the resistant windings. 
Also cleanup the piece that rides on the windings so that you get a good
electrical connection.
