I just went and looked at my 91 Spider to see how the exhaust hangs.  The
CAT is the lowest part under the car and is usually the thing that scrapes
when going over those nasty speed bumps.  Looking closer, the top of the CAT
is only about an inch from the bottom of the heat shield, so it can't be
tucked up any better that I can see.

The rest of the exhaust system then rises up and out of the way to exit out
the back.
