Ok,  in an effort to curb the off topic banter, ;)

How bout this to ponder... If people swap motors all the time for bigger
better stronger faster, has anyone swapped a different FWD automatic transaxle
unit from another make, (read more reliable/durable than the ZF unit) into a
164?

Forgive me, but a Taurus unit or a Gee-M piece? Might not be as wacky as it
sounds....Taurus base unit is a lump, but perhaps the 24V unit?
