seriously, i've used both blizzaks and hakkas in recent memory. both are
very fine tires. here is a rough comparison:

hakkas:

a little better in deep snow
last about twice as long
cost about twice as much at current prices

blizzaks:

a little better on ice
short lived
used to be expensive, now are cheap

i've been using blizzaks since the prices became sane, but still like
hakkas a lot. hakkas are harder to get, though, while blizzaks are readily
available from tire rack.
