Spreading the word re SUV

You think we cannot make a difference. Well, we can. There is a growing understanding among the public about the safety issues presented by SUVs. Lesson one is private enterprise unregulated cannot be relied upon to supply good products (the marketplace is still dumb even when transparent...ha if ever!)., just cheap products, not necessarily cheaply priced.

I was chatting casually with two educated people the other day, while on holiday (twice I was asked if I was in the car business this vacation!) who were surprised to hear that SUV's and minivans were classified as light trucks so did not have to have any safety equipment installed. After a brief discussion I enlightened them and confirmed that if a minivan was unavoidable they should look for one based upon a car chassis like the Honda Odyssey, not a truck based vehicle. They were the proud parents of a new baby so this seemed to make an impact on them, (pun intended).

More posts to this digest reflect a growing understanding of the huge danger posed by these idiotic vehicles to ordinary folks like us, and our neighbours and friends.

Keep talking guys. Believe it or not, groundswell opinion does change the world, and is practically the only thing that does. Discussing these ideas is important, to Alfa enjoyment as much as to basic concepts like surviving your next accident.

Cheers

Michael
