Sounds like transmission mounts. The front ones that mount the trans
to the dedion

Ball joints come to mind. However, the notorious caster rod bushing could
be a candidate here.

On SUV's...

I noticed most speaking against are from California. Remember
there are other places in the US that deal with snow and other terrain not
suited for an Alfa. Not to mention rust. So keep in mind that there are
people and places with other requirements (like towing) than yours and
broaden
your thinking to the greater population. Besides, I've seen people drive
like
shit in just about every type of vehicle.

Lastly, last Thursday evening I saw a beautiful (I think) '76 Alfetta in Red
parked on Congress St in Chicago. First other Alfa I've seen since I
arrived
nearly 3 mos ago. Anyone on the list? I'm downtown every day and
sometimes
have my newly acquired Verde with me.
