With the system set to ECON, it works perfectly.  As soon as I engage the
compressor, it blows a fuse.  It was taking it a while to do so before, now
as soon as I engage the compressor.. BOOM.  Fuse bloweth violently.


Any ideas?  Otherwise the ACwas working great.

This has happened to me.

I would put my money on a defective electromagnetic clutch coil on the A/C compressor

To prove this , disconnect the wire to the clutch (just under the alternator) put in a new fuse and see if it still blows.

If I'm right, you'll need to take the compressor off and either put a new clutch coil on (as I did) or buy a new compressor
