Please bear with me, I'm WAY beyond what i know much about, but...
assuming identically shaped pistons
and identical (combined) length of piston and rod
wouldn't the (static) combustion shape also be identical?
On a different tack, I am talking about two different factory rod lengths. If the factory did it for the 8vTS, I'd have to believe it was an improvement. Assuming the same crank, why wouldn't this be true?
This discussion would all be moot if "someone" could definitively confirm or deny that there are in fact, two different part numbers..... one for the "old" single spark 2 ltr. and a different one for the 8v TS.
anyone?
Yes, the TS head is about 1/2 " taller than the single -plug head.
The project is a rather odd, multi colored Berlina, i'm not expecting clearance problems with the hood.
I don't have a single plug head off at the moment but the water passage holes seem to line up OK with a new head gasket i have, if differing in size. (much like the standard head)
Other differences are that there are only oil passages to the front cam bearings, there is no oil return to the block from the back of the head, and the left side bolt coming up from the timing cover has been relocated about 1" backward.
