Probably the key-in switch.

Subject: GTV-6 ignition switch differences

i'm busy being confused by the ignition switch in my wife's GTV-6.

the switch called for seems to be a 4 wire switch, which is what i ordered
from centerline. the old switch in the car seems to have an additional
pair of black wires, one of which is connected and one of which is hanging
loose in the car.

what is the function of these extra wires? do i care?

i'm working on figuring out how to get the old switch out of the car, but i
won't be asking on the digest until i'm done with my searches in old digest
archives. i was somewhat disappointed by gtv6.org -- the javascript doesn't
work in opera, and forced me to use netscape (which i keep around just for
such eventualities. bad webmaster, no cookie.)
