Re: Metric pressure to ft lbs conversion

One bar is defined as 100,000 Pascals, and one psi is about 6900 Pa, so 8.2 bar would be ~120 psi, or ~1700 lb/ft^2 (there are 144 square inches in a square foot...), but psi is the what's generally quoted for compression tests. For future reference (I take it you have a Japanese compression gauge or something) 1 bar = 14.5 psi.

Subject: Metric pressure to ft lbs conversion

Would someone be able to provide me with a conversion between Bar
pressures to US ft lbs. For example, what would 8.2 bar be in
equivalent ft lbs, as in a compression test?

Thanks very much,

Ciao, Jay
