Understanding the use of fusesm Di Matteo

Few know what fuses are really used for or why different values are
needed. It is quite simple. Fuses protect the wires that carry
current to each device, lights, motors, relays, heaters etc. nothing
else! All wiring diagrams show wire size for each circuit. The
engineers that design electrical systems know how much current each
circuit carries so a particular minimum size is depended on. The
smallest can safely carry the 8 amps even if that circuit only draws 1
amp. To determine a fuse size, when the value is unknown, simply just
insert an ammeter in place of the fuse and read the current draw in
amps. You can safely use an 8 amp if the draw is anything less than 8.
You'll see a co;or with a number which tells the circular mil size.
