The 8 mm nut will not come off the SPICA oil filter stud. Just spins in
place. How can I get it off?

Dremel with cutter splitting the nut. Stop in the nick of time and pray
it's the nut. Might possibly need a new cover (or use JB Weld in the now
unwanted 'slot'). Do run an (are you sure it's an 8 mm?I'm guessing 6
mm) appropriate die down the stud after nut is removed.

Assume you have the appropriate filter.
